JFX is a multi-sensory Juneteenth experience that honors Black freedom through the lens of art, culture, and community.
From stirring performances to living installations, collective rituals to joy-filled gatherings—this is a space to remember, to imagine, and to root ourselves in something deeper.

The Art of Our Healing

From Afrobeat dance and yoga to deep-dive dialogues on Black health disparities, this space centers restoration as resistance. Featuring wellness workshops and a riveting performance by Shark City Drumline to kick off a dynamic panel with Tiniki Riddick, Bri Smith, Tamika Quinn, Dr. Deuene Hickman, Brian Hundley and moderator, Lindsey Anderson.

Sonic Histories

A Storytelling Soundscape of Black Freedom in Chesapeake-told through immersive narration and live African drumming. This rhythmic experience honors the roots of resistance and why JFX//757 chose Chesapeake as sacred ground for this year’s celebration.

Kick off with a vibrant performance by LWAD Dance, and spoken word piece by Cassandra Jenkins, then dive into PULSE—a pitch competition spotlighting entrepreneurs in health, wellness, and community care.

Light The Way!

Gather with us for a Unity Candlelight Celebration featuring the UNITY Choir, spoken reflections, and collective prayer. Then join us for a symbolic Freedom Walk around the Legacy Tree—honoring where we’ve been, and lighting the path to where we’re going.

We'll bring it all home with the announcement of our PULSE Pitch Competition winners and a final moment to celebrate excellence, elevation, and everything this day made possible.
